We Use Nothing Artificial—Ever! Annie’s Naturals salad dressings, marinades, BBQ sauces, and condiments are made from only the very best quality ingredients. We pack in lots of flavor without using preservatives, partially hydrogenated oils, artificial colors or flavorings, or excessive sugar. And we color and sweeten our products naturally.

Expeller-Pressed and Cold-Pressed Oils: All the oils in our products are cold- or expeller-pressed, environmentally friendly methods of extracting oil. Most conventional salad dressing oils are chemically extracted, using hexane, a chemical solvent derived from petroleum, which contributes to water and air pollution. Unlike the olive oil found in many commercial dressings and condiments, we use only extra virgin olive oil, which is cold-pressed and minimally processed without chemical solvents. As its name suggests, extra virgin olive oil comes from the first pressing of the fruit—the highest and most healthy grade of olive oil.

Organic: Annie’s Naturals products are USDA certified organic or use a variety of organic ingredients, which means they’re grown using earth-friendly, sustainable methods (irradiation, genetically modified and sewage sludge, synthetic and toxic pesticides, herbicides and fertilizers are not allowed). Eating organic is one simple way we can protect and maintain the quality of the soil we work, the water we drink and the air we breathe.

Non-GMO: We don’t support the use of genetically modified or engineered organisms, and we would never knowingly purchase ingredients that contain them. Our longstanding relationships with reputable suppliers help us keep our products free of genetically engineered foods. But Annie’s Naturals goes even further to guarantee that its most frequently used oil—canola—remains free of GMOs. Because the majority of North America’s canola seed is now genetically modified, our canola is part of an identity preservation program whereby all the canola seeds used in our oils come from genetically tested non-GMO seeds produced by reputable suppliers. This program allows the tracking of the seed from its source to the crushing process to the storage and delivery, so its non-GMO identity is preserved all the way to our bottles!
