About Annie’s Naturals


People often wonder if there’s a real Annie behind Annie’s Naturals. That would be me. Twenty years ago, fresh from culinary school, I began making all-natural sauces, dressings, and condiments at my Vermont farmhouse. My desire to be a stay-at-home mom led me to bottle my recipes and start a business from my home, which is how Annie’s Naturals was born.

As the business has grown, so has my dedication to healthy eating. At the family farm where my husband and business co-founder Peter Backman and family have lived for seven generations, we take our craftsmanship very seriously, and my dressings and condiments embrace my commitment to premium quality, great value, and phenomenal taste. I seek out only all-natural or certified organic ingredients of superior quality and flavor...even if they cost a little more. I don’t use genetically modified ingredients, and I’m constantly working on recipes – like gluten-free and vinegar-free products – to meet people’s special dietary needs. Today, Annie’s Naturals is the best-selling brand of dressings and condiments in the natural foods market and growing quickly in mainstream grocery stores.

My family and I believe that natural, fresh, unique dressings and condiments can make every meal a special event—and that every meal deserves to be.
